Following a successful pitch, we produced this short form branded entertainment series for UEFA Europa League sponsor Enterprise Rent-A-Car and their agency FUSE, starring Robin Van Persie and comedian Lloyd Griffiths.
Driven by market insight, the content campaign had to appeal to fans across the continent by celebrating away days at unique football destinations; place their brand authentically at the heart of the entertainment; feature high profile talent and be witty… and a little bit silly.
We took a TV-style approach for genuine entertainment, working with a Director with comedy and constructed reality experience, Cein McGillicuddy. We embarked on a comprehensive casting search for real, vibrant and diverse football fans from across Europe, sending 4 pairs across the continent to go head-to-head in a series of bizarre football challenges.
After a 10 day freezing but fun road trip round Europe, the talent joined the cast for the final in Gdansk, and we filmed talent commentary ‘as live’ in a studio on our return.
This is episode one of a three-part series. Each episode had various cutdowns, formats & languages for strategic distribution across social media, on UEFA’s official channels and the talents’ social feeds.
